Hora Hora School has proudly been part of the Horahora community for 115 years.
Our school is nestled beneath Mt Maungatautari, in the heart of rural Waikato. We have a current roll of 44 students from Years 1-8 and operate three classrooms.
Our learning programmes have a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy (with specific attention to the curriculum refresh - Te Mātaiaho). We also provide programmes with a local context, focussing on the environment, history, and education outside the classroom.
Our vision for all ākonga entering Horahora School at age 5, and leaving in Year 8, is that they will develop skills and dispositions that will enable them to transition seamlessly into High School and beyond.
Horahora School will support children to become confident and capable, life-long learners who can achieve their potential.
We treasure our community partnership and recognise that this is integral to our students’ success, as we strive to provide the best possible education for each and every child.

With the end of term approaching, please read carefully to ensure you know what is going on in the last five(ish) busy weeks of term.

We have an opportunity to host a Christmas Road Show (run by Launchpad). Please fill out this very quick form to give permission for your child to attend. Details about the show are included in the link. There will be an alternative program for those students who do not have permission to attend the show.
We also have the opportunity to go to the Hamilton Zoo on the 12th December. This whole school trip is dependent on securing sufficient parent transport and supervision. If you are able to support us with this event, can you please email Ash in the office (details are in the Newsflash).
All students require their togs next week, for swimming.

Rural Schools Athletics has been canceled and the children are on their way back to school on the bus. They should arrive in the next 10-15 minutes.
